The Kingdom of Aeriwyn is collapsing under drought and pollution, ruled by the Ember King. Born from storm and sea, Stormy Princess rises not to conquer – but to restore. With wind, rain and wisdom, she battles elemental corruption, gathering allies and inspiring a new era of guardians.
Chapter 2 Ashwind Hollow
The sky above Ashwind Hollow was bone-white. Not a cloud had wandered these skies in seven seasons.
Stormy Princess walked into the village with the quiet weight of thunder in her stride. Her boots stirred fine dust with every step - no grass, no bloom, just earth stripped bare by the drought. The villagers stopped and stared: some curious, others wary. A girl in storm-colored robes was not a good omen in a time of famine.
A little boy ran up to her. "Are you one of the Ember King spies?" "No," she said gently. "I am the storm he fears."
She listen before she acted.
She heard the brittle crack of dried bark, the hallow wheeze of parched lungs, the silence of empty wells. Children played with bones instead of toys. The animals had either fled or fallen. There was no joy here - only endurance.
Stormy Princess knelt beside a dying oak. She placed here palm on the trunk, and her fingers sparked faintly. Too much force and she could shatter the roots. She whispered a word in the language of sky and water - a word even she barely understood - and felt the tiniest pulse ripple through the soil.
A single drop of rain fell. Then another. Then twenty. People cried out. Faces turned upward in disbelief, as ash became mud beneath their feet.
She did not smile. It wasn't enough. This village needed more than rain. And that's when she felt the others watching.
From the shadows of a crumbled barn emerged a woman in moss-draped robes, silver lichen growing on her staff. At her side, a child with ivy running along arms and eyes glowing green. Behind them, more figures - gentle, strange, old and young, draped in robes of root and wind.
"We are Gaia Whisperers," the women said, "And we've been waiting for you."
Stormy Princess turned. "I didn't come here to be waited for."
The women smiled like bark crackling in spring. "No. You came because the world is broken. But power alone won't fix it."
