Chapter 1 The Quiet Before The Storm
The Kingdom of Aeriwyn had not heard thunder in a 100 years.
Beneath skies too still and sun too harsh, the last clouds vanished from the horizon like stories fading from memory. Rivers thinned, forest whispered in brittle tones, and children spoke of rain as if it were only legend.
But in the mist-veiled heights of Skyrend Peak, where the winds still howled its ancient songs, a girl stood barefoot on jagged stone. Her cloaks billowed like a storm cloud, stitched from raven feathers and silk spun of twilight. They called her Stormy Princess - but she had not yet learned to summon storms.
She was born when lightning struck the sea.
Raised by Sky Mother and the Wave Father, she was carved from clouds and current, meant to be a guardian - not a warrior. And yet, the world was dying. Fires raged in the south. Ice wept in the north. And worst of all, The Ember King had returned, cloaked in smog and greed.
Tonight, the Princess would descend from her mountain for the first time.
The Clouds trembled.
