| Chapter 6 The Path of Flame
Stormy Princess stood atop the Ridge of Shattered Light, watching the horizon burn. The Ember King's citadel loomed in the distance - a jagged tower of obsidian and iron, belching fire into a blood-red sky.
The land around it had turned hollow: forest reduced to ash plains, rivers burned dry, the air thick with heat that stifled thought. Yet she pressed on, guided by a compass carved from riverstone, gifted by the spirit she had freed.
At each broken village she passed, the people whispered:
"The storm walks."
"She brings rain to flame."
"We are not alone."
But the Ember King heard those whispers too - and sent his war-born to silence them.
