7 The Ember Citadel
The citadel gates glowed with molten seams. Stormy Princess entered alone.
Inside, she found a cathedral of machines, fueled by elemental cores stolen from the Earth's heart. At its throne, the Ember King waited - part man, part furnace, eyes smoldering like dying stars.
"You've could have ruled beside me," he said. "You understand power."
"No," she said. "I understand balance."
Their battle cracked the sky.
He wielded fire twisted into swords and suns. She summoned storm shaped like wings, cyclones laced with ocean. The citadel trembled - glass shattered, machines sparked into madness.
When he tried to engulf her with sunfire blast, she whispered the name of rain in a forgotten tongue - and extinguished it.
In the final moment, she struck her staff upon the earth. A wave of stormlight surged upward, tearing through the tower like dawn through fog. The Ember King was not slain - but reduced. Stripped of greed, his body melted into the soil, were moss began to grow.
