The Kingdom of Aeriwyn is collapsing under drought and pollution, ruled by the Ember King. Born from storm and sea, Stormy Princess rises not to conquer – but to restore. With wind, rain and wisdom, she battles elemental corruption, gathering allies and inspiring a new era of guardians.
Chapter
5 River of Echoes
The Princess followed the flow of sludge that leaked from the refinery's waste tunnels into the River Solas. What she found chilled even her storm-harden heart.
Spirit of the river - once radiant beings shaped from foam and moonlight - floated twisted and pale, caught in black tendrils of industrial runoff. Their eyes blinked slowly, no longer recognizing the wind or rain. They wailed songs in backward tongues.
Stormy Princess knelt by the rivers edge and dipped her hand in the water. The corruption hissed at her touch. She winced, then plunged both arms in, summoning the storm.
Above, clouds spun like a whirlpool. Raindrops fell in reverse, lightning dance like veins through sky. The river screamed - and then... breathed. A current surged forward. Spirit gasped as their form shimmered, bones reforming into flowing translucence.
But the land would not forget the scar. It would take time, care, and guardianship to heal. A single spirit lingered behind, a childlike shape made of dew and feathers. "You're not just Stormy, it whispered. "You're the balance."
Stormy Princess smiled faintly, rising. Her gazed turned southward, where rumors spoke of the Ember King himself - a being who once bargained with the sun and stole it's hunger. She knew now: this was more than war. It was redemption.
